Organisation Dutch DPA

The Dutch DPA (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) was established and designated as the supervisor of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the AVG Implementation Act (UAVG). The Dutch DPA is an independent administrative body with its own legal personality.

At the head of the AP is the board. The organisation is divided into 5 directorates.

The board of the Dutch DPA

The board of the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA) consists of a chairman and up to 2 other members. Both the chairman and the members are appointed by Royal Decree upon nomination by the minister of Justice and Security.

The term of office for the chairman and the other members of the board is 5 years. This term is renewable by 5 years after re-appointment.

The current board consists of:

  • Aleid Wolfsen (chair);
  • Monique Verdier (deputy chair);
  • Katja Mur (board member).
